Stationers' Awards Finalist 2023
Published on 29 Jun 2023 by Emma Eynon
We are very proud to be shortlisted again this year for the distinguished Stationers' Company - Innovation Excellence Awards.
The Stationers' Company
"The City of London Livery Company for the Communications and Content Industries."
The Stationers' Company is a 600 year old livery company founded in London by groups of medieval tradesman, to promote, protect, and regulate their trades.
600 years ago most craftsmen in London were itinerant. However, the manuscript writers and illuminators decided to concentrate their efforts and set up stalls or ‘stations’ around St Paul’s Cathedral. Because of this, they were given the nickname ‘Stationers’ and this was the obvious choice of name for the guild they established in 1403.
When printing came to England in the late 15th century, the Stationers had the good sense to embrace it and we have continued to adapt to the many changes in the Communications and Content industries ever since.
Communications and Content industries
In today's world, the communications and content industries cover printing, publishing, media, and press organisations.
Digital media is now more prevalent than ever as evidenced by our own contributions to digital education and communication through our innovative eLearning.
We're also members of the ISTC!
To maintain our status as "Training Providers of Excellence" we believe in the importance of quality communication. This is why we are proud to be members of the Institute of Scientific and Technical Communicators.
Communication isn't just about speech or text - it can be highly visual too. We make sure to include plenty of high quality visual illustrations, photographs, videos, and even audio tracks to help get the best message across.
The Innovation Excellence Awards
Fantom Factory is extremely honoured to be a finalist in the Customer Experience category!
Our whole ethos for eLearning is centered around the user experience - of education and communication. When we produce content, either in our eLearning, our software applications, or on our website pages, we take great care to make it all accessible and easily understood.
We've been invited to exhibit at the fabulous Stationers' Hall before enjoying the awards ceremony itself and learning about all of the other finalists. We may be "punching above our weight", competing with the likes of Ricoh and Xerox, but it's fantastic just to be invited!
The Stationers' Hall
Take a look at some of these photos of this historic venue, next to St Paul's Cathedral in London and you'll see why we can't wait to go in September!
