SkySpark Installation Guide

The very first step to using SkySpark - is the installation of the software itself!

This guide will walk you through the basic steps required to install SkySpark, as well as providing some further information and support in the event of any issues. (It may not always go exactly to plan!)

What is SkySpark?

As a technology stack, SkySpark is installed as a Web Server.

That is, like all modern computer programs, SkySpark is not program installed on your local computer for local users, like Adobe Photoshop or Microsoft Office. Instead, once SkySpark is installed, it serves up web pages that you access through an internet browser, performing better in Google Chrome or Firefox.

Pre-requisites

To run SkySpark, you wll need:

• Java Runtime Environement (JRE)
• SkySpark installation files (.zip file)
• Valid SkySpark licence file (.props file)

The process is:

1. Install Java
2. Install SkySpark
3. Configure SkySpark install
4. Install the licence file
5. Run SkySpark (first time)

Important notes:

• A Java installation may be obtained from AdoptOpenJDK.
• The latest SkySpark installation files may be obtained from your SkySpark resller or distributor or from the SkyFoundry website (with a valid login).
• SkySpark may be run with a minimum 10 point licence file, but a larger 200 point licence file is needed if you choose to create the SkyFoundry Demo Database.
