What makes good or bad training?
Have you ever had to sit through a training presentation that was perhaps boring, pointless, confusing, irrelevant, or even overwhelming?
Well don't worry - we all have at some stage!
Instinctively we know what makes for bad training - but it can actually be quite haed when it comes to designing good training of your own.
We're very passionate about good training standards at Fantom Factory, so here are some top tips from us to help you design yours!
1. Clear training objectives
Measure the success of your training and keep your content relevant.
Make sure your students really benefit from what you advertise at the beginning.
2. Minimise Distractions
Engage students wiht structured content tailored for individual learning styles.
Help your learners to enjoy their training and focus on one task at a time.
3. Add practial value
Apply training to realistic scenarios to demonstrate the real value of the training.
Students who can practice their learning remember more and stay engaged and motivated too!
4. Value each student
Make time and effort to be supportive for each of your learners.
Let your students know their learning (not their credit card) is important to you!
5. Provide feedback
Assess student progress, consolidate learning, and reward feedback.
Feedback is important throughout the training - more than just a final certificate!
6. Student aftercare
Provide materials and resources for students to reflect on the training and take it further.
If your training is worth remembering after the event is over - let it live on!
